LAYCAN REPORT

The Monday-morning kill list
for furniture freight.

Graded importers. The incumbent to displace. The week their next booking opens. Refined from live US customs manifests — not a database, a call list with the homework done.

Derived from public US customs records (19 CFR 103.31).

48,197 manifests read 5,151 licensed forwarders screened fewer than 1 in 8 active in furniture lanes

You already know the game.

Freight accounts are won at the booking moment and lost to inertia everywhere else. The importer who ignored your last three emails picks somebody the week his next container books — and that week is invisible from the outside.

So you're stuck choosing between:

Either way, you're the analyst. We think you should be the closer.

Every Monday at 07:00 ET, one short list.

Furniture importers in your lanes — graded, scored, ready to dial.

01 — The Incumbent Flag

We name who currently holds the account.

Not "an opportunity" — a specific forwarder you're displacing, so your first call opens with a target, not a pitch.

69 shipments · 188 TEU · ~$3.1M/yr est. freight Incumbent: ASF LOGISTICS
02 — The Strike Window

We compute the cadence and flag when the window is open.

Freight accounts run on a cadence. We tell you the week a booking decision is actually being made — not a guess, a computed pattern from the manifest history itself.

MERCEDES BENZ U.S. INTERNATIONAL
Cadence: ships every ~28 days — OVERDUE (expected ~2026-06-23)
03 — The Honesty Guard

When we don't know, the card says so.

Every freight number is labeled with its own confidence. We only print a strike-window flag on the accounts where the pattern is real — fewer than 1 in 10 leads. The rest, we leave blank rather than guess.

You might already pay for a manifest database.

Keep it — we're not the same layer.

You bought the quarry. We sell the sculpture.

A raw export gives you rows: no importer-vs-forwarder split, no grading, no incumbent, no timing. At a loaded $35/hr, the weekly hours a rep spends filtering that down costs you roughly ~$1,400/mo — on top of the subscription — to hand-produce, imperfectly, what this feed delivers finished for less than the price of one lunch meeting.

The data being public was never the edge. Fewer than 1 in 8 US-licensed forwarders are even active in furniture lanes at all. Most of that market is still doing this by eyeball. You won't be.

Laycan is built and run by one person reading customs manifests so freight sales teams don't have to. Reply to any email and you get me directly — not a support queue.

What this isn't.

Questions

Is this legal?

Yes. Every card is derived from public US customs manifest data under 19 CFR 103.31 — the same public record enterprise logistics-intelligence vendors build on. We just do it at a price an independent NVOCC can actually justify.

How new are these accounts?

Every card is labeled honestly. We flag new-to-category activity plainly; a small number of leads carry a verified new-importer tag only after a human lookback confirms it. We'd rather under-claim than oversell you a lead that turns out to be a veteran importer.

What happens after the 10 seats are gone?

The list closes. New subscribers join at the $399 standard rate once capacity allows. Founding members keep $199 for life.

Do you sell my data, or this data, anywhere else?

No. This feed is not resold, and the enrichment we use for our own outreach is never embedded in what we sell you.
